- Mark Rais – Treasurer
The board employs summer workers (pictured below) who manage day-to-day operations and provide tours to the public.
- Mitch Salhaney – Hatchery Manager (left photo) Hey there, I’m Mitch and this is my second season here at the Grayling Fish Hatchery as the Hatchery Manager! Whether its mowing the hatchery grounds or raising awareness about cold-water conservation, my job has it all. I love being able to work outside, especially in northern Michigan, the Grayling Fish Hatchery has been a dream come true. Another great perk of the hatchery is all of the potential wildlife viewing at the hatchery! Stop in and say hi! Bring your listening ears and a great attitude and you’re sure to have a wonderful experience!
- Jacob Ziegler – Hatchery Technician (right photo) Hello! My name is Jacob Ziegler, I am the student intern at the Grayling Fish Hatchery this year. This is my second summer season working at the Grayling Fish Hatchery. I just finished my sophomore year at Northern Michigan University, studying Fish and Wildlife Management! In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors fishing, hiking, hunting, and foraging. I have been living up north for a number of years now and love spending the summers here fishing the Au Sable and Manistee rivers. I have an extensive knowledge of fish species, including but not limited to, aquatic insect species! Come find me operating the Bug Spot at the Hatchery this summer, in which you can learn more about entomology and how it relates to trout in Northern Michigan. I am very excited to see our visitors this summer!
